- Day-by-day itinerary: One block per day with the date filled in, time slots, places, booking refs and costs.
- Budget: Planned vs spent per category; spent fills in from the Expenses tab.
- Expense log: Date, item, category and who paid, with drop-down lists. Shows who owes whom on the Budget tab.
- Packing list: A starter checklist for your trip length and type, with a Packed column.
- Flights & bookings: Flights, stays, trains, car hire and tours with confirmation numbers in one place.
- Pre-trip checklist: What to do 8 weeks, 4 weeks, 1 week and 1 day before you leave.
- Contacts & documents: Emergency contacts, insurance policy, embassy and accommodation numbers.
How to open it in Google Sheets
- Download the .xlsx file above.
- In Google Sheets, open a blank spreadsheet and choose File → Import → Upload, then pick the file and choose Replace spreadsheet.

Spreadsheet or online planner?
A spreadsheet is best when you want everything in one file you control, or a group editing the same sheet. If you would rather start from a ready-made route, open an itinerary template or the itinerary generator; to work out costs first, try the travel budget calculator. See which itinerary format to use for the trade-offs.
