How it works

  1. Set your trip length and pick every trip type that applies (for example Beach, Flying and International).
  2. Click “Create my list”: it is built from fixed packing rules, so it appears instantly and nothing is sent to an AI.
  3. Add your own items, set quantities, and mark what you still need to buy.
  4. Print the checklist, or save it to My trips and tick items off as you pack.

Planning the days too? Make a day-by-day itinerary or start from a ready-made one.

Frequently asked questions

Is this packing list generator free?

Yes. Generating, editing, printing and saving packing lists is free, with no sign-up.

How does it decide what to pack?

It uses fixed packing rules, not AI: your trip length sets clothing counts, and each trip type you pick (city break, beach, hiking, cold weather, rainy season, work trip, international, flying, road trip, camping, ski & snow, cruise, backpacking, wedding / event, with kids) adds its own items. The same choices always give the same list.

How many clothes should I pack for a week?

About seven tops and eight sets of underwear and socks for a 7-day trip. Clothing counts stop growing after seven days because the list assumes you do laundry once a week.

Can I combine trip types?

Yes. Pick as many as apply, for example beach + flying + international or ski + cold weather + with kids; duplicates are merged.

Can I edit the list?

Yes. Add your own items, change quantities, mark items to buy, assign them to a bag (carry-on, checked, personal item or wear on the day) or to a person, and tick them off as you pack.

Can I print it?

Yes. Print list prints just the checklist; choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to keep a PDF copy.

Will my list be saved?

Not automatically. Click Save to My trips: without an account it is kept in this browser, and with a free account it is kept across devices.

Can I plan the itinerary for the same trip?

Yes. A saved packing list lives in a trip in My trips, next to its day-by-day itinerary and budget; you can also start from one of 914 itinerary templates.
